Cookie Preferences
Last updated: May 5, 2026
Snowskid uses a small number of cookies to operate the site and participate in affiliate programs. This page explains exactly what is set, why, and how you can control it.
Cookies we use
| Cookie type | Source | Purpose | Duration |
|---|---|---|---|
| Theme preference | Snowskid (first-party) | Remembers your dark/light mode choice via localStorage | Persistent (local storage, not a cookie) |
| Affiliate tracking | Third-party affiliate networks (e.g. Amazon Associates, ShareASale) | Attributes purchases to Snowskid so we earn a commission when you buy gear through our links | 24 hours – 90 days depending on network |
| Analytics | Vercel Analytics | Aggregated page-view counting — no personal identifiers, no cookies set by default | Session / none |
Affiliate cookies in detail
When you click a product link on Snowskid, you are redirected to a retailer through an affiliate network. That network sets a small cookie on your device so the retailer can credit Snowskid if you complete a purchase. We receive only aggregate commission reports — we cannot see who you are or what you specifically purchased.
We use the following affiliate networks, each with its own cookie policy:
- Amazon Associates — cookies last 24 hours after clicking
- ShareASale — cookies vary by merchant (typically 30–90 days)
- Other retailer programs — disclosed individually on relevant pages
What we do not do
- We do not use advertising or retargeting cookies
- We do not build a profile of you or track you across sites
- We do not sell cookie data or personal information to any third party
How to manage your preferences
Browser cookie settings
You can block or delete cookies at any time through your browser settings. Note that blocking third-party cookies will prevent affiliate tracking, meaning Snowskid will not earn a commission on purchases you make after clicking our links — the gear price to you is unaffected.

Theme preference (local storage)
Your dark/light mode choice is stored in your browser's localStorage under the key
snowskid-theme. This is local to your device and is never transmitted to our servers.
To clear it, open your browser's developer tools and delete the entry, or clear site data for
snowskid.com.
